(KRON) -- Four-year-old Amanda Nicole "Nikki" Campbell went missing from her Fairfield neighborhood when she walked to a friend's house in 1991. For three decades, the mystery of what happened to Amanda has remained unsolved. "Amanda was last seen going to a friends house and is believed to have been abducted by a stranger," the California Department of Justice wrote. This week, the Fairfield Police Department assigned a detective to the Amanda Campbell cold case after a former church pastor made a murder confession in a separate case. The pastor, David Zandstra, lived in Fairfield during the same time that Amanda disappeared without a trace, police told KRON4. Zandstra recently told investigators that he killed 8-year-old Gretchen Harrington in 1975 while she was walking to bible camp in Pennsylvania.Zandstra allegedly confessed that he lured Gretchen into his car because he intended to rape her, according to investigators. When she refused to remove her clothing, the pastor killed ...DA announces attempted murder charge with enhancements in Oakland bus attack

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — Austin Ekeler has the most scrimmage touchdowns in the past two years and became the fifth running back in NFL history last season to have at least 100 catches in a season. It isn’t Ekeler’s on-field accomplishments though that gained attention throughout the offseason and leading into Los Angeles Chargers training camp. Instead, it has been about him trying to unite veteran running backs in seeking improved salaries along with fighting the narrative that the position has lost its value in a passing-heavy league.Ekeler organized a Zoom call with other running backs last Saturday that also included Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry and Christian McCaffrey. “We’re not just numbers on a page, we’re actual players and we all have different impacts on each team, so it’s very situational, as far as what a specific player can have as far as impact on each team,” Ekeler said after the Chargers completed their second training camp pra...No da tregua: el gobierno de Biden aumenta las deportaciones de migrantes

The Eagles say Randy Meisner, founding member and singer of ‘Take It to the Limit,’ has died.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck brushed off allegations that he runs a toxic program on Thursday, saying they mostly come from players and employees who have been dismissed or departed on their own.“These allegations are baseless,” Fleck said during Big Ten media days at Lucas Oil Stadium. “We have full support of our athletic director, Mark Coyle, and our university leadership. This is a similar story that gets peddled every single year, and the majority of the players have been dismissed or removed from our football team.”Multiple former players and employees have been quoted anonymously in reports, including by Front Office Sports, examining the program’s culture, including an accusation that Fleck has interfered with medical protocols to get injured players to return earlier than anticipated.“We also have around a half-dozen anonymous reporting avenues within our football program that players can go to if they have an issue,” Fleck said. “And our athletic director...Denver weather: More heat and afternoon thunderstorms
