The White House was briefly evacuated after the item, a white powder, was found "inside a work area," White House spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi confirmed to NewsNation. (WFRV) - A 51-year-old Wisconsin man was injured after being shot by neighbors who were target practicing without a proper backstop, according to authorities.Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office were called to a report of a shooting in Wilton on Sunday shortly after 7 p.m., roughly 45 miles east of La Crosse.The caller reported that the shots were coming from a neighboring property, and a man had been shot in the leg. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Independent School District will receive a federal grant, which it will use to bring solar panels to 16 school buildings. The district originally requested nearly $15 million for its Solar for Schools program, according to U.S. Department of Energy documents. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with funeral expenses for a South St. Paul teen who drowned in Lake Superior last week.Nearly $6,000 has been raised as of Tuesday morning for the family of 18-year-old Austin Dale Henning.Henning and Maximillian Williams, 18, of Inver Grove Heights, died June 25 after jumping off of cliffs into Lake Superior.The two were on a couples day trip to Lake Superior when the tragedy occurred, said Henning’s mother, Beth Ann Henning. Henning was dating Williams’ twin sister, Beth Ann Henning said, who had advised against the cliff jumping.At the time of the drownings, wind speeds were up to 23 mph and waves were three to four feet tall, the Duluth News Tribune reported. CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Cambridge man was arrested on Monday following almost a month-long burglary investigation. Steven Russell, 33, was charged with second-degree burglary. According to New York State Police, on June 7, around 1:04 p.m., troopers responded to a Cambridge home for a reported burglary. TIVOLI, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A person was rescued after their car fell into a stream in Tivoli late Monday afternoon. According to the Tivoli Fire Department, the person climbed onto the car roof, as it landed in the water on all four wheels, and couldn't get to shore due to a strong current. Firefighters say the patient was assessed by Tivoli EMTs and Northern Dutchess Paramedics after a swift rescue and was taken to Mid Hudson Regional Medical Center. A motorcyclist died early Tuesday morning after crashing on Interstate 70 and being shot, according to Denver police.Police could not say Tuesday whether he died from injuries sustained in the crash or from being shot.The incident was first reported as a single-vehicle crash at about 12:20 a.m. on eastbound I-70 at Colorado Boulevard, according to police. But after arriving at the scene, authorities discovered the man had also been shot.The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died.
