CHICAGO — Portions of Beverly and Washington Heights will be sprayed Wednesday night to protect against West Nile virus.According to Ald. Matt O'Shea, the spraying is based on results from CDPH's citywide mosquito surveillance program.“While spraying adult mosquitoes is important to protect Chicagoans, the best way to prevent West Nile virus infections is to protect against mosquito bites,” said Dr. Janna Kerins, a medical director at CDPH. The interim executive director of The Zephyr Theatre is a teacher, pastor and consultant who has been an active patron and past volunteer at the theater.Zephyr officials announced Monday night that Jim Weckwerth has been tapped to fill the role. Rivers has been named the new lead analyst for St. Louis Blues broadcasts on Bally Sports Midwest. EAST ALTON, Ill. - It is a big back to school day Wednesday morning for many Illinois school districts in the area. We spent the morning in the East Alton School District, where there was excitement in the air for the first day back at school.East Alton is a smaller district with only an early childhood center, Eastwood Elementary School, and East Alton Middle School. However, there were still plenty of smiles as the kids headed back to class. The district is home to about 750 kids from pre-kindergarten through the 8th grade.Crews did some infrastructure work over the summer on the inside of the buildings in the district. The district also got a new playground. UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. -- An officer found a 2016 Nissan Altima that had been reported stolen on July 11, 2023. The vehicle was parked in University City and the officer called a tow truck to pick it up.As the driver of the tow truck was getting ready to take the car away, 19-year-old Lamonte Davis walked up to him and said that he owned the car. Davis had a key fob for the Nissan, two other key fobs, and a handgun in a bag he was carrying.Davis has been officially charged with felony tampering with a motor vehicle. If Davis is found guilty, he could be sent to jail, pay a fine, or face other legal implications. The court has set the bond for Davis at $25,000.Latest news
