SAN MATEO – A 12-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of stabbing another boy Monday night at Central Park in San Mateo, police said.The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. at the park, located at 50 East 5th Avenue, the San Mateo Police Department said in a statement. Officers arrived to find a 15-year-old boy suffering from at least one stab wound to the left side of his body.Officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived to take the victim to a hospital.Following the stabbing, the suspect rode away from the scene on a bicycle, police said.An investigation revealed the victim and the suspect knew each other, and officers were able to identity the suspect, police said.Officers located and interviewed a number of witnesses while searching for the suspect. He was ultimately found walking in the 800 block of North Humboldt Street.The suspect was arrested and booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall on an attempted murder charge.The case remains under investigation and police are sea...Celebration opens new Heinlenville Park in San Jose’s Japantown

Heinlenville Park may be San Jose’s newest open urban space, but it comes with more than a century of history to its name, befitting its location in the city’s historic Japantown neighborhood. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The Express clothing store near San Francisco's Union Square will close later this month, according to a sign posted at the front of the store. The sign, bearing the message "It's not goodbye!", says the shop will close on Oct. 22. Express will maintain its location at the Stonestown Galleria, which is at 3251 20th Ave. It also has a location in Emeryville. San Francisco files lawsuit against SRO landlords in Chinatown The location that is closing is 301 Geary St. Express did not list a reason for the closure. Express is the latest San Francisco store to announce that it is closing its doors after a slew of retail shops closed over the summer. (KRON) -- A great horned owl that was brought to the Oakland Zoo after being rescued from the center divide of Interstate 580 in Castro Valley is stable, according to zoo officials. The owl was brought to the zoo's vet hospital after being rescued by the California Highway Patrol last week.After the initial rescue, the CHP was directed by the Department of Fish and Wildlife to transport the owl to a nearby wooded area. (KRON) -- After being closed in both directions due to a gas leak earlier on Tuesday, Dublin Boulevard has reopened, the Dublin Police Department announced. The closure was between Tassajara Road and Brannigan Street. Olympic gymnastics champion Mary Lou Retton has pneumonia and is in intensive care in a Texas hospital.Retton’s daughter, McKenna Kelley, shared Retton’s condition in an Instagram post on Tuesday. Kelley said the 55-year-old Retton, who became the first American woman to win the Olympic all-around title, is “fighting for her life” and not able to breathe on her own.Kelley started a fundraising campaign on Retton’s behalf for medical expenses.
