Denver’s local minimum wage for workers will increase to $18.29 an hour starting Jan. 1, up from $17.29, city officials announced Friday morning.For tipped food and beverage workers, the minimum will be $15.27 per hour, as long as workers receive at least $3.02 in tips. Two small, aging hotels near Disneyland will likely meet the wrecking ball to make way for larger hotel development.In late June, Sunstone Development purchased the 60-year-old, 24-room Budget Inn located at Disneyland Drive and Ball Road for $12 million, the Orange County Register reports.Last September, Sunstone also acquired the adjacent 44-room Days Inn by Wyndham, which hasn't been renovated in 39 years, for $8.66 million.The company that brokered the Budget Inn deal said Sunstone is exploring “long-term alternative strategies for the site including full-service hotel uses,” according to the O.C. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department discovered narcotics in the Morongo Basin Station jail cells on Wednesday, officials said.The station is adjacent to the Joshua Tree Courthouse, and the cells are "routinely used to temporarily house inmates from other county court facilities who are scheduled for court appearances," the SBSD said in a news release. MARTINEZ — An alleged Northern California-based gang member was charged with attempted murder and street terrorism in connection with a recent Discovery Bay shooting, court records show.Daniel Jonasson, 29, was charged with attempted murder, gun and drug possession, and street terrorism, and is being held in lieu of $2.175 million bail, court records show.
