DENVER (KDVR) — With multiple days of smoke and bad air quality, many people may be feeling the effects on their eyes, throat or lungs."I've got little kids in the house, and they've got allergies and asthma," said John Hicks, the operations manager at Brother's Plumbing Heating and Electric in Denver. You can now identify yourself with your palm at Coors Field To help protect them, Hicks replaced his standard air filter in his home with a polarized media filter."It looks like a standard filter, but it's plugged in, it's got high voltage to it, and it's able to attract all this stuff to the filter," he said.Other people may use air purifiers for their homes, but some only work in small spaces.Which mask works best for smoky air?Dr. Anthony Gerber, a pulmonologist at National Jewish Health, said, "Most folks will put it in their bedroom, but again it has to be a HEPA filter and it has to be matched to the size of the space you are filtering."Gerber said the people most at risk in t...Where Miller Moths hide during the day

But where do the miller moths go during the day? Miller moths are here, and ‘they’re everywhere!’ Miller moths are nocturnal and usually like to find dark places to rest during the day, according to experts at the Butterfly Pavilion. They said the moths might be spotted during the day because they may not be in a place where they feel comfortable enough to rest.Whitney Cranshaw, an entomology professor at Colorado State University, told FOX31 that this particular moth "commonly finds cover in crevices, which may include locations such as along window molding, doors, areas of vehicles."In their search for a dark resting place they sometimes end up in buildings and vehicles, but Cranshaw said she has sometimes seen m...Man who saved woman stuck in canal in SW Miami-Dade honored with award by Police Benevolent Association

Memorial Day marks the unofficial date when baseball fans can start checking the standings. The Mets survived a bumpy few weeks and have sparked a winning streak, reeling off five straight against the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Guardians. They head into a six-game road trip with a chance to make up more ground against the Chicago Cubs and the Colorado Rockies. However, the Mets have played 48 games and only three times has a pitcher gotten through seven innings. Justin Verlander has done it twice, throwing eight innings Sunday against the Guardians to give the bullpen a much-needed reprieve before a day off. The team’s most pressing issue is starting pitching, with the club having burned through all of the depth way back in April and a staff that routinely fails to go deep into games.Mets starters have posted a 5.09 ERA, which ranks 25th in the league. The 238 and 2/3 innings pitched is the 10th fewest in baseball. The bullpen has had to pick up a lot of work and it has p...Oakland A’s broadcaster Glen Kuiper fired for using racial slur on air
