All lanes blocked on Vasco Road in East Bay after big rig, van crash (KRON) -- All lanes are blocked on a major road that connects Contra Costa County and Alameda County. Both the southbound and northbound lanes are shut down on Vasco Road after a big rig and van crashed on Wednesday, according to California Highway Patrol.The crash resulted in part of the van to have "impaled" the driver, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page. Officials reported multiple people were injured from this crash that happened around 10:55 a.m., CHP said. However, it is unknown at this time how many were injured and the severity of their injuries. Vasco Road is approximately 20 miles and connects the cities of Livermore and Brentwood. San Francisco pedestrian was struck by Muni bus, officials confirm SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- More details about a controversial incident involving a San Francisco pedestrian, a Muni bus, an ambulance, and driverless Cruise cars were released this week.The fatal accident happened at the intersection of Harrison Street and 7th Street on August 14. One of the San Francisco Fire Department members who responded to the scene later wrote an internal report about what happened. The report accused two driverless Cruise cars of blocking and delaying an ambulance that urgently needed to rush the pedestrian to a hospital. The pedestrian died between 20-30 minutes after arriving at the hospital from injuries including blunt force trauma. On Tuesday, SFFD and San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency officials confirmed that the pedestrian was initially struck by a Muni bus driven by a human.
