FWC: Boat that struck diver near Boca Chita was Miami-Dade Police vessel The boat involved in a crash near Boca Chita that sent a diver to the hospital was a Miami-Dade Police vessel, authorities said. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, they were notified on Wednesday of a boating accident between the police vessel and a diver off Boca Chita Key.Investigators said the victim was hoisted onto the Boca Chita Key Police Dock after he was struck. Officers carefully pulled the diver from the boat. Parts of his body were wrapped with a yellow tarp.7Skyforce hovered above the scene as first responders treated the diver, placed him on a gurney and drove him over to the rescue chopper.The patient was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center for treatment. As of Thursday morning, the diver remained at the hospital. It’s unknown why the diver was in the water at the time of the crash and whether or not he had his diving flag up.Officials continue to investigate what led to the crash.

Motorcycle crash in Weston leaves 1 dead, another critical; WB I-75 closed for air rescue A crash involving a motorcycle on Interstate 75 in Weston left one person dead, sent another to the hospital and led to lane closures that is causing traffic backups during rush hours. Florida Highway Patrol and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the crash along the westbound lanes near Indian Trace, about a mile west of Markham Park, Thursday afternoon.Investigators said the crash involved the motorcycle and a dark colored SUV and took place around 3:15 p.m.7Skyforce hovered above the scene and captured a dark colored SUV with front-end damage.First responders pronounced one of the victims dead at the scene and airlifted a second individual to the hospital in critical condition.Just after 4 p.m., the deceased victim’s body remained on the highway covered with a yellow tarp. Berklee musicians jazz up Blue Line commute, to perform at stations through August Students and alumni from the Berklee College of Music were playing some jazz tunes for Blue Line riders Thursday morning.The trio performed at the entrance of the Wonderland T station as part of an effort to liven up the commute for Blue Line riders this summer.“We decided it would be a cool idea to play at the T this morning just to brighten everyone’s day,” Berklee student Liz Sinn said.Students will be performing at the Wonderland T station every Thursday morning and outside the Aquarium station every Tuesday evening.  The performances are scheduled through the end of August, timing with the Sumner Tunnel closure.
