INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts got a glimpse at the promise, poise and power that convinced them to draft Anthony Richardson fourth overall in April. Only this time at Lucas Oil Stadium, the former Florida quarterback was wearing a helmet and pads instead of shorts and a T-shirt. And instead of working in front of NFL scouts, he was playing in front of a capacity crowd and facing AFC South champion Jacksonville.Afterward, Colts coaches and fans seemed to like the first impressions Richardson made in his professional debut. Richardson, meanwhile, was not satisfied with the results.“We didn’t win, so I didn’t do good enough,” he said following a 31-21 loss that extended Indy’s opening day winless streak to 10. “But first game, first experience, felt good just being out there with my teammates. The energy was good. We’ve just got to clean some things up, including myself.”Statistically speaking, Richardson was solid. He went 24 of 37 with 223 yards, one touc...Rosenberg gets 1st career win as 2 balk calls on Bibee help Angels to 2-1 victory over Guardians

NEW YORK (AP) — Sal Frelick raced back as Anthony Volpe hit a deep drive to right field and was fully aware of the short porch along with the the larger Joey Wiemer charging in his direction from center field. The rookie’s intent was to extend the game and keep a historic no-hit bid alive for the Milwaukee Brewers, even if it meant a collision.Frelick was able to keep the Yankees hitless and the game scoreless with his leaping, backhand catch in the 10th inning, but New York rallied to beat the Brewers 4-3 on Sunday when Giancarlo Stanton hit a tying, two-run homer in the 12th and Kyle Higashioka hit a winning double in the 13th.After Corbin Burnes pitched eight hitless innings and Devin Williams worked a 1-2-3 ninth, the Yankees had two on in the 10th against Abner Uribe, one the automatic runner and the other on a walk, Volpe hit a drive and Frelick made a lights-out catch — he knocked out the lights on the videoboard attached to the wall.“Obviously the short porch in right there ...Tom Brady returns to hero’s welcome in New England and declares himself a ‘Patriot for life’

Here’s the thing about moral victories: They show up in the loss column. There’s only a handful of positives for the New England Patriots after a 25-20 season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles:* Turnovers on consecutive plays from scrimmage in the first quarter put the Pats in a 16-0 hole, but they picked themselves up and fought to the end.* A decimated offensive line, and a game plan designed to make that less worrisome, allowed Mac Jones to attempt more than 50 passes. Credit Jones for hanging in there and new OC Bill O’Brien.* The Patriots defense showed up. They held the defending NFC champs to just 251 yards and 17 first downs. So kudos to the Pats for being able to be within hailing distance of a win in the final minutes. But the messy early mistakes were just too much to overcome. The Patriots are 0-1, and host AFC East rival Miami next Sunday night. The Dolphins got a huge win in Los Angeles, beating the Chargers 36-34 behind Tua Tagovaliloa’s 46...California bill to simplify language for ballot referendums signed into law

It’s been nearly 80 years since the end of the Holocaust, the deadliest and most devastating mass genocide in human history. 6 million Jewish people were killed, as well as 5.7 million Soviet civilians, and up to 3 million Polish people among many others. It’s important to not forget the evil of the Holocaust, lest something like this happen again. But what is not known as well about the Holocaust are the people who perpetrated it. We all know it was the Nazis who committed this genocide in an efficient manner, keeping records of daily deaths. But when they weren’t counting the bodies and stealing the clothes and valuables left behind, what kind of people were they? How did they sleep at night? The Zone of Interest is one of the more horrifying films I've ever seen, but not because of what it shows. It's because of what it doesn't show. #TIFF23— James Mackin @ TIFF 23 (@JamesMackin10) September 11, 2023The Zone of Interest is a Holocaust drama unli...Latest news
